The forum TIG/SIG is an event of the Saló GlobalGeo conference during the Saló Internacional de la Geomàtica (International Geomatic Week).

Arnulf Christl will give a presentation talking about OSGeo and the importance of GFOSS solutions now and in the near future. Especially during a worldwide crisis period the aspect of reduced cost seems to be most important but there is a lot more to Free and Open Source Software models than that.

The session focuses on Open Data, Crowd Sourcing and Open Source.

The conference will be held in Barcelona from March 15th to 16th with the plenary session on March 16th in the morning. This is just a week before of the Spanish V Jornadas SIG Libre & FOSS4G conference in Girona running from 2011-03-23 until 2011-03-25.
