This is an example for a concise description of an OGC standard: OGC WMS
Open Geospatial Consortium
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is the standards body for the geospatial domain.
OGC members meet four times a year for a week of workshops, presentations and networking. Arnulf is actively involved with the OGC since 1997 when he implemented the first prototypes of the evolving OGC WMS standard.
Arnulf will give three presentations during the Frascati meeting:
- Wednesday: ... Metadata DWG: References to Lineage in Licenses (ODbL)
- Wednesday: 11:45-13:40 Workflow DWG: WPS Report from FOSS4G
- Thursday: 8:45-10:45 University DWG: Open Standards Expert Certificate
OGC Architecture Board
Arnulf was a member of the OGC Architecture Board. He is thankful to have been part of this highly computer-literate group of experts for more than a decade and hopes to have been able to also contribute some from the sidelines. The cartoon below is in no way meant as a derogatory remark but rather as a reminder that sometimes it is good to stat from scratch and to never omit humor.
