ESDIN (European Spatial Data Infrastructure Network, an e-ContentPlus project) is lead by a concortium comprised mainly of European National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs) and is led by EuroGeographics.
News (2010-06-01): New Technical Coordinator welcomed by the ESDIN team
Arnulf Christl became Technical Coordinator of the ESDIN project implementation team. He said that "the project aims of ESDIN match almost painfully well with my interests – enabling spatial data infrastructures and enhancing the adoption of INSPIRE in the real world." As Technical Coordinator to ESDIN, Arnulf will help bring the technical work delivered so far and convert it into a coherent set of outputs that test, demonstrate and deliver a new era of Public Sector Geographic Information products and services.
ESDIN is a collaboration between mapping and cadastral agencies, academic institutions and technology providers to help prepare data for the INSPIRE Directive. It will benefit a wide range of people including data users and suppliers, systems integrators, software vendors, consultants, academics, those working in standard development and implementation and those involved in establishing spatial data infrastructures.
ESDIN is co-ordinated by EuroGeographics and supported by funding from the European Commission. The project started in September 2008 and will end in February 2011. More information is available at: http://www.esdin.eu
